Legal NEWS - ACMA considering change of community interest for 6PCR
Fremantle's community radio service, 6PCR, has requested that the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) allow 6PCR to change the community interest it is licensed to serve. 6CPR's current licence lists "the Portuguese speaking community of the licence area" as its community interest. 6CPR wishes to change this to "the general community of the licence area".
ACMA has indicated it will consider the proposed change as a part of its current determination of whether to renew 6PCR's licence for another 5 years. The public are invited to make submissions to ACMA at carsubmissions@acma.gov.au on the proposed change. The closing date for submissions is Friday 21 September 2007.
