Lawyer NEWS - ACCC Amends Claim Against StoresOnline to Include New Allegations of False or Misleading Conduct
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has amended its claims in the Federal Court against StoresOnline to include two new allegations of false or misleading conduct.
Previously the ACCC commenced proceedings alleging that it had contravened undertakings made to the ACCC.
The ACCC has now claimed that StoresOnline had offered for sale e-commerce packages at a "Full Price" and a "90 day Offer" price. The ACCC alleged that these items have never been sold or offered for sale at the advertised prices, which amounted to a false representation of the saving that could be made.
Additionally, the ACCC alleged that StoresOnline made a false or misleading testimonial representation during a workshop in March 2007 by stating that an individual operated his business in a particular way when this was not correct.
